DevOpsZero Downtime Migration
Migrating Server Infrastructure to Dokploy

Project Background
To scale resources and improve development cycles, the application deployment framework needed a migration from Coolify to Dokploy without affecting live production instances and distributed storage (SeaweedFS).
The Problem
Migrating from the Coolify platform to Dokploy while preserving existing Docker Swarm and SeaweedFS configurations with zero downtime.
- •Maintaining consistent Docker Swarm networking and persistent SeaweedFS storage mounts during the transition.
- •Ensuring zero network packet loss using Traefik as the edge proxy router.
- •Restructuring CI/CD deployment pipelines to target direct Docker image registries instead of build-on-server strategies.
The Solution
Optimized deployment scenarios based directly on Docker Images and safely routed network traffic using Traefik.
- Built a parallel Dokploy host configuration on Hetzner VPS nodes while the live Swarm remained on Coolify.
- Configured Traefik routes to gradually shift incoming client requests from old to new containers.
- Used direct pre-built Docker images for deployments to bypass high memory build overhead on VPS nodes.
